Who is this course for?

This course is designed for people that want to gain the knowledge and skills required to recognise emergencies in the workplace, to report emergencies and to take appropriate action. The unit has been developed to cover the facilities as specified in Australian Standard (AS) 3745 and AS4083. For this unit, as covered by AS3745and AS4083, occupants are people attending a facility on a permanent or temporary basis such as an employee, contractor, student, resident but not a visitor or patient and a facility is a building, structure or workplace that is, or may be, occupied by people (occupants).

All aspects of the unit must be undertaken in accordance with legislative requirements, organisational policies and procedures and accepted safe practices. It applies to occupants who are required to be ‘emergency aware’ in their facility. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit

What qualifications will I receive?

At the successful completion of the training program, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification PUAFER004 – Respond to facility emergencies. This course does not expire however a 3-year refresher is recommended.

  • How to respond to emergency warnings and advice
  • How to choosethe most appropriate course of action.

Eligibility and Prerequisites

  • All candidates must supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Available at www.usi.gov.au.
  • All candidates must be either an Australian Citizen, permanent resident, NZ citizen, or a humanitarian visa holder
  • All candidates must provide 100 points of Identification
  • Students must complete the online theory exam before attending.

How is the course delivered?

The course is delivered as mixed learning:

  • Online pre-learning and reading of 4 hours
  • Face-to-face training and assessment of 2.5 hours

Course Duration

The duration of this course is a minimum 6.5 hours.

Cost

$149.This includes all course materials, face-to-face training and assessment,equipment used as part of the training. There are no other fees associated with the training program. All fees must be paid in advance of training or assessments.
