This course is for anyone who is seeking to work in the Hospitality, Tourism, Events and Security Industries in a range of roles including Food & Beverage, Bar Service, Quick Service, Security Personnel and Event Personnel. There are many opportunities available for anyone who holds an RSA Competency Card in bars, clubs, functions, music and sporting events, festivals and more.
What qualifications will I receive?
At the successful completion of the training program, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification Provide responsible service of alcohol - SITHFAB002 and you will be eligible to receive the Liquor & Gaming NSW mandated RSA Competency Card that is mandatory for work in any venue or event in NSW where alcohol is sold or served.
What will I learn?
You will learn everything you need to know to sell and serve alcohol responsibly, including:
NSW Liquor Laws and the Liquor ACT 2007
The history of RSA, why it was introduced and why we continue to have it
The meaning of Harm minimisation along with strategies and approaches
How RSA helps licensed premises, staff, customers and the community
License types and conditions
How to identify the signs of intoxication
How to refuse service and manage conflict situations
Understanding Signage
Minors and Checking ID
Compliance and enforcement and much more
Eligibility and Prerequisites
All candidates must supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Available at www.usi.gov.au
All candidates must be either an Australian Citizen, permanent resident, NZ citizen, or a humanitarian visa holder
All candidates must provide 100 points of Identification
Students must complete the online theory exam before attending.

Course Duration
Face to Face
The duration of this course is a minimum 6 hours of mixed training face-to-face training.
Cost
This is a fee-free, NSW Government Smart and Skilled subsidised program for eligible students.
The standard course fee is $189. This includes all course materials, face-to-face training and assessment, equipment used as part of the training and NSW RSA Contemporary Card. There are no other fees associated with the training program. All fees must be paid in advance of training or assessments.
