Who is this course for?

This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to work within the command, control and coordination structure of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO). An ECO's priority is the safety of facility occupants and visitors during an emergency which means ECO members are responsible for pre-emergency, emergency and post emergency actions. It includes undertake pre-emergency planning, taking appropriate actions in an emergency and assisting with post emergency activities.

What qualifications will I receive?

At the successful completion of the training program, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification PUAFER005 – Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation. This course does not expire however a 3-year refresher is recommended.

What will I learn?

  • How to undertake pre-emergency planning    
  • How to take appropriate actions in an emergency
  • How to assist with post emergency activities

Eligibility and Prerequisites

  • All candidates must supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Available at www.usi.gov.au.
  • All candidates must be either an Australian Citizen, permanent resident, NZ citizen, or a humanitarian visa holder
  • All candidates must provide 100 points of Identification
  • Students must complete the online theory exam before attending.

How is the course delivered?

The course is delivered as mixed learning:

  • Online pre-learning and reading of 4 hours
  • Face-to-face training and assessment of 4 hours

Course Duration

The duration of this course is a minimum 8 hours.

Cost

$249. This includes all course materials, face-to-face training and assessment,equipment used as part of the training. There are no other fees associated with the training program. All fees must be paid in advance of training or assessments.
