Who is this course for?
The course is designed for candidates
to perform transport security screening functions including, controlling access to security sensitive areas, undertaking physical searches, and identifying and handling weapons, explosives and prohibited items. A Transport Security Screening Officer must also apply effective communication skills to work in a broad range of transport security protection roles.
What qualification will I receive?
At the successful completion of the training program, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification, AVI20325 - Certificate II in Transport Security Protection.

- AVIO0028 Conduct primary screening of persons
- AVIO0029 - Conduct screening using 3D CT X-ray scanning techniques
- AVIO0030 - Conduct screening using explosive trace detection
- AVIO0031 - Conduct secondary screening of persons
- AVIO0032 - Conduct vehicle search for access to secure areas
- AVIO0033 - Establish secure areas & manage access control points
- AVIO0034 - Identify & manage weapons, IEDs, & PIs - Introduction
- AVIO0035 - Identify powders, liquids, aerosols and gels (PLAGs)
- AVIO0036 - Manage disruptive behaviour & unlawful interference
- AVIO0037 - Manage the flow of items for screening by X-ray screening equipment
- AVIO0039 - Undertake physical search
Eligibility and Prerequisites
- All candidates must supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Available at www.usi.gov.au.
- All candidates must provide 100 points of Identification
- Applicants with Overseas Students Visa’s are not permitted.
- Hold a valid and current ASIC (Aviation Security Identification)

How is the course delivered?
The course is delivered as mixed learning:
- Face-to-face training, knowledge tests, assessment tasks and simulated activities.
Course Duration
Full face-to-face programs are 10 days. Course time is 08:30 - 17:30.

$1,500.00 Course Fee. Other licensing fee may apply.
