The course is designed for candidates that are seeking to gain employment within the Security Industry as a licensed security officer performing 1A Unarmed security worksuch as mobile and static patrols and 1C crowd control. Employment opportunities may include: working at bars, clubs, vehicle patrols, shopping centres, airports, functions, and music and sporting events.
At the successful completion of the training program, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification, CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations. This course is the Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED) mandated qualification to receive a 1AC NSW Security Licence. New entrants must complete the training program in full to apply for a 1AC NSW Security Licence. This qualification must be completed in line with the SLED mandated training and assessment program.
Assessment-only pathway
Students may apply for an assessment-only pathway (AOP) if they have already achieved all of the units of competency in the SLC cluster or they hold superseded and equivalent units with a current approved organisation after 1 May 2013, but before 2 July 2020, or after July 2020 with any other RTO.
SLC Cluster 3 contains superseded but equivalent units from CPP20212. Students will need to be able to provide evidence of the relevant VET Qualifications including the record of results and/or statements of attainment and successfully complete formative assessment to be deemed eligible to complete the AOP option.

All applicants will be interviewed by a senior RTO representative to determine their eligibility. Applicants with Overseas Students Visa’s are not permitted. To ensure you are eligible for this course please read the SLED Fact Sheet 6 Am I Eligible for a NSW Security Licence?
The course is delivered as mixed learning:
Full face-to-face programs are 15 days. You are required to complete pre-reading and learning online. Assessment only pathways are 12days. You are required to complete pre-reading and learning online.
This is a fee-free, NSW Government Smart and Skilled subsidised program for eligible students.
The standard fee of $1250 is 100% subsidised for course participants. Employment is subject to successful attainment of a 1AC Security Licence and successful completion of the course. A security licence fee applies – 1year $160.00 / 5yr $640.
100 points of ID and your USI number will be required to complete the online course registration.
